Cuilleron Viognier Les Vignes d a Cote 2024
Yves Cuilleron is a fourth-generation winemaker who has transformed his family domaine into one of the Rhône Valley’s most dynamic estates. Farming 60 hectares across prestigious appellations he follows sustainable “lutte raisonnée” practices, a French viticultural term meaning "the reasoned struggle" or "reasoned fight," referring to a farming method that minimises chemical use, avoiding insecticides and encouraging biodiversity. The Viognier “Les Vignes d’à Côté” comes from vineyards just outside the Condrieu appellation, planted on granitic soils that bring freshness and purity to the wines.
The Viognier Les Vignes d’à Côté 2024 is hand-harvested, gently pressed and fermented with indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve aromatic clarity. It is then aged for several months on fine lees in tank, enhancing texture without oak influence. Expect ripe peach, apricot, white flowers and citrus zest, with a clean mineral finish. Delicious with grilled prawns, chicken in creamy sauces or soft cheeses like Saint-Marcellin.
