Wagner Stempel Rose 2023

Wagner-Stempel Rosé 2023 is a dry organic rosé from Weingut Wagner-Stempel in Rheinhessen, Germany, where organic certification (DE-ÖKO-022) and sustainable vineyard management are standard practice. The family-run estate, based in Siefersheim and a member of the VDP, farms vineyards planted on mixed sandy clay and porphyry-rich volcanic soils. All grapes are organically grown and hand harvested. The winery confirms this rosé is vegan friendly, reflecting careful cellar practices and minimal intervention throughout production.

The 2023 Rosé is a blend of Pinot Noir (Spätburgunder), St. Laurent and Frühburgunder, harvested early to retain freshness and natural acidity. Following gentle pressing, fermentation and ageing take place entirely in temperature-controlled stainless steel, with no barrel ageing, and a short period on fine lees to enhance texture. Pale salmon in colour, the wine shows aromas of redcurrant, raspberry and wild strawberry, with crisp acidity and a subtle mineral edge. Best served well chilled, it pairs well with shellfish, grilled fish, summer salads, light pasta dishes and Mediterranean cuisine.
