Vida Peter Hidaspetre 2020

Vida Péter is a family winery in the Szekszárd wine region of southern Hungary, where winemaking has evolved over generations with a focus on authentic terroir expression. The estate’s vineyards around Hidaspetre lie on calcareous loess soils enriched with red clay, benefiting from a warm continental climate that supports the Kékfrankos grape. The winery emphasises careful vineyard management and traditional techniques, and this single vineyard Kékfrankos is produced with minimal intervention.

The Hidaspetre Kékfrankos 2020 is made from 100% Kékfrankos (Blaufränkisch) grapes from the Hidaspetre site. Grapes are hand harvested, cold macerated and fermented with native yeasts before ageing for approximately 15 months in a mix of used barrels of various sizes, allowing integration of fruit, spice and subtle oak influence. The wine shows medium body with vibrant red and black fruit, spice and elegant acidity with fine tannins. It pairs excellently with roasted meats and hearty stews.
