Vega Sicilia Valbuena 5 2019

Valbuena 5º is the purest red wine expression from Vega Sicilia, aged for five years in oak and bottle. The 2019 vintage was drier than previous years, with healthy fruit and well-ripened skins thanks to rainfall. Fermentation was gentle, and part of the wine was matured in oak vats during the first year to add structure. The grapes are harvested manually. The vineyard has an average age of 35 years, covers 210 ha (Finca Vega Sicilia), and has a planting density of 2,222 plants/ha. Situated at an altitude of 700–900 m.

It is fresh and elegant, both succulent and muscular, taut and delicate. Grape composition: 97% Tinto Fino, 3% Merlot. This wine is suitable for drinking now but can be cellared for up to 25 years.

Limited production: 190,490 standard Bordeaux bottles, 5,581 Magnum, 390 Double Magnum, 37 Imperial, and 6 Salmanazar.
