Azienda Agricola Valentini Montepulciano D'Abruzzo 2013
Valentini's Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is one of the great Italian red wines, an extraordinary wine matured for at least 12 months in cask and at least 48 months in bottle, Valentini only releases its Montepulciano when it is ready. It is a wine that encapsulates the soul of Abruzzo where it is born, the result of artisanal cultivation and natural winemaking, a natural wine without sulphites even though Valentini has decided not to fall into the category of organic wines or biodynamic wines. In the glass the wine has a very deep ruby red, almost impenetrable, the nose is very complex: coffee, plum, chocolate, humus, wet leaves are just some of the scents that can be picked up in the glass, the facets are endless. In the mouth it is an extremely balanced wine: on the one hand full bodied, on the other a pungent freshness. The finish is very long, a truly persistent wine that can be counted among the great red wines of the world.
