Txomin Etxaniz Txakoli 2025
Txomin Etxaniz is a historic family winery in Getaria, the heartland of Getariako Txakolina in Spain’s Basque Country. The family’s connection with vine growing dates back to 1649, and it played an important role in establishing the modern appellation in 1989. Their steep vineyards descend towards the Atlantic, with cool, wet maritime conditions and sandy, chalky loam soils giving the wines their characteristic freshness, salinity and vibrant acidity.
Txomin Etxaniz Txakoli 2025 is made from the indigenous Basque varieties Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Beltza. The hand harvested grapes undergo white vinification, pneumatic pressing in an inert atmosphere and controlled-temperature fermentation before ageing on the lees in stainless steel. The wine is pale and bright, with citrus, green apple, white fruit and mineral aromas, followed by a fresh, saline palate with pronounced acidity and a gentle natural spritz. Crisp and refreshing, it is made for seafood, oysters, grilled fish, anchovies, pintxos, salads and fresh cheeses.
