Stefano Occhetti Roero Riserva DOCG Occhetti 2022 is made by Stefano Occhetti, a dedicated vigneron in the Roero zone of Piedmont in north-west Italy. Stefano oversees vineyards in Monteu Roero and Vezza d’Alba, set on sandy, sedimentary soils that give Roero its distinctive elegance and aromatic lift. The region’s hillside exposures and microclimates foster slow, even ripening of Nebbiolo, encouraging refined tannins and perfume. Vineyard work is manual with a focus on sustainable viticulture.

The 2022 Roero Riserva DOCG Occhetti is crafted from 100% Nebbiolo, hand-harvested and fermented with spontaneous yeasts, followed by a traditional maceration on skins to extract flavour and structure. After malolactic fermentation, the wine spends extended ageing in French oak vats and barriques, lending complexity, suppleness and depth. It presents an intense garnet colour with aromas of cherry, wild berry, rose petal and spice, supported by firm yet poised tannins and vibrant acidity. Serve at 16–18°C with rich game, braised beef, truffle pasta or mature cheeses to complement its concentrated profile and elegant length.
