Produced by Saladini Pilastri, one of Italy's oldest noble wine estates, Falerio DOC is a fresh and expressive white wine from the rolling hills of the Marche region. The Saladini Pilastri family has been cultivating vineyards on their historic estate for centuries, with records of the family dating back to the 11th century. Today, the estate is recognised as one of the leading producers in southern Marche, combining tradition with modern winemaking while farming its vineyards according to certified organic principles. The vineyards lie between the Adriatic Sea and the Sibillini Mountains, where cooling maritime breezes, significant diurnal temperature variation and clay limestone soils help preserve freshness and aromatic intensity in the indigenous grape varieties.
The 2024 Falerio DOC is a traditional blend of 50% Trebbiano, 30% Passerina and 20% Pecorino, fermented at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks to retain the purity and vibrancy of the fruit. The wine displays fragrant aromas of white peach, pear and citrus blossom, accompanied by notes of green apple, wild herbs and delicate white flowers. The palate is crisp, elegant and beautifully balanced, with lively acidity, subtle mineral notes and a refreshing saline finish that reflects its Adriatic origins. Light yet characterful, Saladini Pilastri Falerio is a versatile white wine that pairs beautifully with seafood, grilled fish, fresh cheeses, vegetable dishes and light Mediterranean cuisine.
