Puszta Libre 2023

Puszta Libre 2023 is produced by Claus Preisinger, a biodynamic pioneer based in Gols in Austria’s Burgenland region near Lake Neusiedl. The estate farms its vineyards organically and biodynamically under Respekt Biodyn, on soils of sandy loam, limestone and gravel. Vineyards are hand worked with minimal intervention, and the wine is produced with spontaneous fermentation and low sulphur.

The wine is a blend of approximately 60% Zweigelt, 20% St. Laurent and 20% Pinot Noir. Grapes are harvested by hand, undergo spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts, often including semi carbonic or carbonic maceration, and are aged on fine lees in stainless steel and large neutral vessels for around six months. Puszta Libre 2023 shows bright red fruit, floral and herbal aromas, soft tannins and crisp acidity, pairing well with charcuterie, grilled meats, pizza and fresh vegetable dishes, highlighting the mineral freshness of Burgenland terroir. Can be enjoyed slightly chilled.
