Description

Produced in the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, Pollen de Corbin Michotte is the second wine of Château Corbin Michotte, a historic estate located on the limestone plateau and clay-limestone slopes that define the region’s finest terroirs. The property is known for its traditional approach, focusing on old-vine parcels and careful vineyard management to express the character of its sites. As the estate’s second wine, Pollen is crafted from younger vines and selected parcels, offering a more approachable and earlier-drinking expression of the château’s style while retaining the identity and structure of Saint-Émilion Grand Cru.

Made primarily from Merlot with a proportion of Cabernet Franc, the wine is vinified with gentle extraction to preserve fruit purity and supple texture, followed by maturation in French oak barrels to add subtle complexity and structure. The result is a wine that is approachable in its youth yet still reflective of its grand terroir origins. Aromas of ripe black cherry, plum and red berries are complemented by floral notes, soft spice, cocoa and a touch of graphite. The palate is smooth and rounded, with fine tannins, balanced acidity and a supple, fruit-driven core. Elegant and versatile, it pairs beautifully with roast poultry, grilled meats, duck dishes and semi-hard cheeses.
