Description

Produced by Poggiotondo in Tuscany, Italy, Vermentino delle Conchiglie reflects the estate’s commitment to organic farming and expressive coastal influenced wines. The winery is run by Alberto Antonini, one of Italy’s most respected winemakers, who focuses on sustainable viticulture and minimal intervention cellar practices. Vineyards benefit from warm Mediterranean conditions moderated by cooling sea breezes, helping preserve freshness and aromatic intensity in the grapes. The soils are rich in fossilised marine shells, limestone and sandy clay, giving the wine its distinctive mineral character and the name “delle Conchiglie”.

Made from 100% Vermentino, fermentation takes place in stainless steel at cool temperatures to retain freshness and varietal purity, followed by short lees ageing to build texture and complexity. The wine shows aromas of citrus peel, white peach and green apple alongside Mediterranean herbs, white flowers and saline mineral notes. The palate is crisp and vibrant with lively acidity, juicy stone fruit flavours and a clean, refreshing finish. It pairs beautifully with grilled seafood, shellfish, light pasta dishes, salads and Mediterranean inspired cuisine.
