Pieropan Soave Classico 2024
Pieropan is one of the most historic and respected producers in Soave, founded in 1880 by Leonildo Pieropan and still family owned today. Based in the medieval town of Soave in Veneto, the estate has been instrumental in establishing the appellation as a source of high quality white wines. The vineyards lie within the Soave Classico zone, where volcanic basalt, limestone and clay soils combine with a mild climate to produce wines of freshness and minerality. Pieropan farms its vineyards according to certified organic principles with a strong commitment to sustainability and biodiversity. The wines are generally considered vegan friendly, although they are not specifically vegan certified.
Pieropan Soave Classico 2024 is a blend of 85% Garganega and 15% Trebbiano di Soave, sourced from hillside vineyards within the historic Classico area. The grapes are gently pressed and fermented in temperature controlled glass lined cement tanks, before spending several months ageing on their fine lees to add texture and complexity. No oak is used, preserving the purity of the fruit and the expression of the terroir. The wine displays aromas of white flowers, citrus, pear and almond blossom, with subtle notes of peach and wet stone. Crisp, elegant and refreshing, it pairs beautifully with seafood, grilled fish, risotto, light pasta dishes and fresh cheeses.
