Nanua is a small Georgian producer dedicated to traditional varieties from western Georgia, particularly in the Imereti region. The vineyards are influenced by a humid, temperate climate moderated by the Black Sea, with warm summers and sufficient rainfall. Soils are typically limestone, clay and alluvial deposits, contributing freshness and structure. The estate follows sustainable vineyard practices including manual harvesting, minimal chemical use, and maintaining natural ground cover to support biodiversity. The focus is on low intervention viticulture that respects the local environment and highlights indigenous grapes.

Nanua Otskhanuri Sapere 2018 is made from estate grown fruit in Terjola, harvested by hand and fermented in traditional qvevri using wild yeasts. The wine undergoes extended skin contact remaining on skins and seeds for around a month in total, before ageing on its lees in qvevri for approximately 11 months. Produced in very small quantities, this natural, unfiltered wine has minimal sulphur. It shows deep ruby colour with notes of forest berries, pomegranate and herbs. The palate is full bodied with high acidity and firm yet refined tannins, pairing well with grilled meats, game and rich vegetable dishes.
