Nanclares Alabrino comes from the small, artisan producer Nanclares y Prieto Viticultores based in Galicia, northwest Spain. Winemakers Alberto Nanclares and Silvia Prieto farm roughly 2.5–5?hectares of Albariño vines across some 8–12 parcels in the parroquias of Cambados, Portas and surrounding villages, with vineyard ages ranging from around 15 to 95?years. The climate here is strongly Atlantic, with cool sea breezes and frequent rainfall moderated by the proximity to the Ría de Arousa, giving the grapes vibrant acidity and saline minerality. Soils are typically decomposed granite (xabre) and sandy loam over granite bedrock.

Made from 100?% Albariño grapes, this 2022 vintage is a dry white that highlights its maritime terroir. Grapes are hand picked and gently pressed without destemming, with fermentation in a mix of stainless steel and used French oak barrels on wild yeasts. The wine then rests on its lees for around nine months with regular bâtonnage to build texture before bottling without cold stabilisation, heavy filtration or fining. Aromas feature bright citrus, grapefruit and white flowers with a mineral, saline undercurrent, while the palate is fresh with lively acidity and a clean, persistent finish. It pairs beautifully withseafood such as oysters, scallops and grilled fish, as well as lighter dishes like sushi, salads or fresh goat’s cheese.
