Monteagrelo Bressia Cabernet Franc
Bodega Bressia’s Monteagrelo Cabernet Franc 2022 hails from the high-altitude vineyards of the Uco Valley in Mendoza, Argentina, where cooler mountain air and intense sunlight shape the grapes’ aromatic purity and structure. Bressia was founded by Walter Bressia, a respected Argentine winemaker with decades of experience sourcing premium fruit from remote sites across Mendoza. The vineyards sit above 900 metres, planted in calcareous gravel soils that give this Cabernet Franc its trademark mineral lift and varietal clarity. Sustainable viticultural practices are employed, reflecting careful land stewardship in the dry, desert-influenced vineyards.
The Monteagrelo Cabernet Franc is fermented and then aged for around 12 months in a mix of French and American oak barrels, integrating oak complexity with pure fruit expression. Expect aromas of cassis, cherry and subtle graphite, with a concentrated palate of red berry fruit, pencil shavings and fine tannins leading to a fresh, poised finish. Pair with grilled red meats, hearty stews or aged cheeses to complement its savoury depth and balanced acidity.
