Maremosso Catarratto 2022

Maremosso Catarratto 2022 is a Sicilian orange wine made by the Ciello estate near Alcamo in western Sicily, where the Vesco family oversees vineyards planted at around 150–300m above sea level. The region’s Mediterranean climate and breezes from the nearby sea help preserve natural acidity in the indigenous Catarratto grapes.

Maremosso Catarratto 2022 is made from 100% Catarratto grapes that are fermented with several weeks of skin contact, giving the wine an orange hue and richer texture. After maceration, fermentation finishes naturally and the wine is bottled unfiltered and unfined with low added sulphur. Expect a dry, pithy palate with notes of citrus peel, grapefruit, herbs, ginger and a hint of spice, supported by bright acidity and saline freshness. This dry style pairs beautifully with seafood, shellfish, vegetable dishes, Goan fish curry, ricotta salata or young pecorino cheeses, and is best served lightly chilled to showcase its vibrant fruit and texture.
