Description

Gelovani Cellar’s Kisi 2023 is made by a boutique producer in the Kakheti wine region of eastern Georgia, the country considered the cradle of wine with over 8,000 years of continuous winemaking history. The estate works with the indigenous Kisi grape grown on varied terroirs of humus carbonate, alluvial and stony soils, benefiting from warm continental sunshine and cool nights.

Gelovani Cellar Kisi 2023 is a dry orange wine made from 100% Kisi grapes, an ancient Georgian variety prized for aromatic complexity and balanced acidity. After harvest, the grapes are fermented with extended skin contact in traditional buried clay qvevri for 1-2 months, allowing the skins to build texture, tannin and amber colour. The result is a structured wine with notes of dried apricot, peach, honey and subtle nutty spice, with lively acidity and a long finish. Serve slightly chilled or at cool room temperature; it pairs beautifully with roasted vegetables, grilled poultry, seafood, rich cheeses and traditional Georgian dishes like pkhali or satsivi.
