Description

Julien en Billat – L’Enfant Terrible du Sud 2024 is produced by Domaine Ganevat in Rotalier, in France’s Jura region. The domaine is run by Jean-François Ganevat and his sister Anne and is widely recognised for biodynamic farming and low intervention winemaking. While the wine is bottled and labelled in Jura under the Domaine Ganevat name and Côtes du Jura designation, it reflects the producer’s broader range of experimental cuvées made with careful fruit selection and minimal intervention philosophy.

The 2024 vintage is a red blend based on Pinot Noir, Poulsard and Trousseau, vinified with indigenous yeasts and a gentle extraction approach to preserve freshness and aromatic lift. Fermentation and ageing take place in neutral vessels and older barrels to maintain purity of fruit character without dominant oak influence. The wine shows bright aromas of red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry alongside floral notes, soft spice and a light earthy nuance. The palate is supple and energetic with juicy acidity, fine tannins and a crisp savoury finish. It pairs well with charcuterie, roast poultry and simple Mediterranean-style dishes.
