Fernet Branca Menta
Fernet-Branca Menta is produced by Fratelli Branca Distillerie, the historic Milanese producer founded in 1845 by herbalist Bernardino Branca. The family-owned company has built a reputation for traditional Italian amaro and crafting complex herbal liqueurs.
Fernet-Branca Menta was introduced in the 1960s, inspired by the popular custom of adding mint syrup to Fernet-Branca. It uses the same botanical base but is enriched with peppermint oil, often sourced from Piedmont, giving the liqueur a fresher and sweeter profile. The herbs and spices are macerated in alcohol before resting in large oak vats to harmonise the flavours. The result is an aromatic digestif with bold peppermint, menthol and herbal notes. It is typically served well chilled, over ice, or in cocktails, and pairs well with dark chocolate desserts or after-dinner coffee.
