Domaine Mee Godard Morgon Corcelette 2023
Produced by Mee Godard in the Beaujolais region of eastern France, where she has become one of the most respected modern producers of terroir-driven wines. Originally from South Korea, she established her domaine in Morgon after studying oenology and working in Burgundy, focusing on single-vineyard expressions with organic and low intervention practices. The Corcelette climat lies on the northern slopes of Morgon, one of the region’s most prestigious crus, with vineyards planted on decomposed granite and schist soils that lend finesse, structure and mineral depth.
The 2023 Morgon Corcelette is made from 100% Gamay, sourced from old vines and fermented with indigenous yeasts using whole cluster or partial whole bunch techniques to enhance aromatic lift and structure. The wine is aged for around 10 to 12 months in a combination of concrete vats and neutral oak, preserving purity while adding subtle complexity. It shows expressive aromas of red cherry, raspberry and blackberry alongside violet, rose petal, crushed stone and gentle spice. The palate is vibrant and finely textured with fresh acidity, silky tannins and a long mineral-driven finish. It pairs well with roast poultry, charcuterie, grilled meats and earthy vegetable dishes.
