Domaine Gueguen Bourgogne Cotes Salines Blanc 2024
Produced by Domaine Famille Gueguen in Burgundy, Côtes Salines is a Chardonnay made in a fresh, mineral style inspired by nearby Chablis. Céline and Frédéric Gueguen are based in the Chablis region and work with sustainably farmed vineyards located just outside the official Chablis appellation boundaries. The cool continental climate and limestone rich soils with fossilised marine elements contribute freshness, tension and saline minerality to the wine.
Made from 100% Chardonnay, fermentation takes place in temperature controlled stainless steel to preserve purity and aromatic freshness, followed by several months ageing on fine lees to enhance texture without oak influence. The wine shows aromas of lemon zest, green apple and white peach alongside white flowers and pronounced mineral notes. The palate is crisp, linear and refreshing with bright acidity, subtle saline character and a clean persistent finish. It pairs beautifully with oysters, shellfish, grilled fish, goat’s cheese and light poultry dishes.
