Domaine de la Plaigne Beaujolais Villages 2022

Domaine de la Plaigne is a family-run estate in Beaujolais, with a commitment to traditional, low-intervention winemaking. The vineyards are sustainably farmed, some following organic principles, with a focus on healthy soils and balanced ecosystems. Located in the rolling hills of southern Beaujolais, the vines grow on granitic and schist soils, giving the wines freshness, finesse and a true expression of the Gamay grape. The wines are vegan-friendly and crafted with minimal sulphur and no animal-derived fining agents.

The Beaujolais Villages 2022 is made from 100% Gamay grapes. The fruit is hand-harvested and undergoes semi-carbonic maceration to enhance aromatic intensity and silky tannins. After fermentation in stainless steel vats, the wine is aged briefly on fine lees to add texture, without oak influence. The nose shows red cherry, raspberry, and floral notes, with vibrant acidity and soft tannins on the palate. It pairs well with charcuterie, roast chicken, grilled vegetables and mild cheeses.
