De Loach Heritage Collection Chardonnay
De Loach Vineyards, founded in 1973 by Cecil De Loach, is a pioneering winery in Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley, a cool coastal region renowned for expressive Chardonnay. Now under ownership of the Boisset family, the estate combines traditional Burgundian winemaking with sustainable vineyard practices, sourcing the grapes from carefully tended, cool climate sites along the California Coast.
The grapes for the Heritage Collection Chardonnay are selected and fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel to preserve fresh fruit aromas, while a smaller portion is fermented in French oak to add texture and complexity. After fermentation, the wine is aged for around ten months with malolactic fermentation to build a creamy mouthfeel. It displays enticing notes of honeysuckle, citrus fruit, ripe pear, lemon curd and subtle vanilla, with lively acidity and a creamy finish. This versatile wine pairs beautifully with grilled chicken, creamy pastas, roasted fish, shellfish and light salads.
