Cullen Wines, established in 1976 by Diana Madeline Cullen, is a pioneering biodynamic winery in Margaret River, Western Australia. Under the stewardship of her daughter, Vanya Cullen, the estate has become renowned for its commitment to sustainable and carbon-positive viticulture. The Grace Madeline Sauvignon Semillon 2021 is named in honour of Diana's mother and Vanya's maternal grandmother. The 67% Sauvignon Blanc and 33% Semillon vines are planted on their own roots and are farmed using certified biodynamic methods. This wine is vegan-friendly, reflecting the estate's dedication to ethical and minimal-intervention winemaking practices.

The 2021 Grace Madeline Sauvignon Semillon was harvested on specific biodynamic dates and underwent fermentation with indigenous yeasts. The wine was aged for five months in French oak barrels, 72% of which were new. This process imparts complexity and depth to the wine. The resulting profile offers aromas of citrus, kaffir lime, vibrant acidity and minerality on the palate. Flavours of melon, cumin and vanilla, the palate is textured and persistent. It has the potential to age gracefully for up to 15 years. Pairs beautifully with dishes like kingfish ceviche, Thai cusine and asparagus.
