Clos du Gravillas A Fleur de Peau Muscat 2023
Clos du Gravillas is a family-run estate in the Saint-Jean de Minervois appellation of the Languedoc, founded by Nicole and John Bojanowski in 1999. The vineyards are certified organic and farmed with a strong commitment to biodiversity and sustainable viticulture, with minimal intervention both in the vineyard and cellar. Situated on limestone rich slopes at around 300 metres above sea level, the vines benefit from warm Mediterranean days, cool nights and poor stony soils that naturally limit yields, producing wines of freshness, concentration and distinctive mineral character. The wines are generally considered vegan friendly.
Clos du Gravillas A Fleur de Peau Muscat 2023 is made from 100% Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains. The grape undergo several days of skin maceration before spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, followed by ageing for around six months in stainless steel tanks on the fine lees to preserve purity and texture. Bottled with minimal sulphur, the wine is aromatic yet dry, offering notes of orange blossom, citrus peel, apricot, white peach and fresh herbs with a delicate saline finish. Its textured palate pairs beautifully with Middle Eastern cuisine, spicy Asian dishes, grilled seafood, soft cheeses and vegetable based dishes.
