Château Cos Labory is a historic Fifth Growth estate in the Saint Estèphe appellation of Bordeaux, with its name deriving from the Cos hill and a long lineage of ownership dating back to the 19th century. The vineyard occupies roughly 18–35 hectares on a plateau of deep gravel (Günzian gravel) over marl limestone and clay. Vines average around 35–38 years.

The 2016 vintage of Château Cos Labory is a Bordeaux blend, primarily Cabernet Sauvignon (about 53–60%) with Merlot (roughly 35–44%) and a small portion of Petit Verdot (and sometimes Cabernet Franc). The grapes are fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel vats, then the wine is matured for around 14–18 months in French oak barrels, roughly half of which are new. The result is a full bodied wine with dark berry and blackcurrant character, complemented by cedar, graphite and spice. Tannins are firm yet refined, with a balanced acidity and a long, mineral tinged finish. It pairs wonderfully with roast beef, lamb, game, hearty stews or aged cheeses.
