Allram Strass Gruner Veltliner 2023

Weingut Allram is a historic family owned estate in the Kamptal wine region of Lower Austria, with roots dating back to 1894 and currently led by Lorenz and Magdalena Haas Allram. The vineyards are farmed with a focus on sustainability and hand work. Kamptal’s terroir combines ancient Gföhler gneiss, loess and gravelly soils on south facing slopes, giving vibrancy, minerality and spice to Grüner Veltliner grown in this cool continental climate influenced by the Kamp River.

The 2023 Strass Grüner Veltliner is made from 100% Grüner Veltliner grapes hand harvested from village sites and vinified with temperature controlled fermentation on natural yeasts with extended lees contact to enhance texture and purity. This wine is typically fermented and aged in stainless steel to preserve freshness and varietal expression, with no oak influence, and is suitable for vegans with low sulphur. Displays notes of green apple, citrus, pear, peach and white pepper framed by lively acidity and subtle minerality. Pair with Wiener schnitzel, roast pork, seafood, salads or light Asian dishes for a versatile food match.
