Bodegas Albamar Rias Baixas Albariño 2024 comes from Bodegas Albamar, a family run winery in the Salnés Valley in Galicia, north west Spain, where the Atlantic’s cool maritime influence shapes some of Rías Baixas’s finest whites. The vineyards sit on sandy and granite rich soils close to the sea, benefiting from cool breezes and mist that enhance freshness and minerality. Albamar works closely with small local growers and favours traditional viticulture, with many parcels farmed organically or with minimal intervention.
The 2024 vintage is made from 100% Albariño, hand harvested and fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in a combination of stainless steel and neutral foudre, then aged on lees for several months to build texture while preserving lively acidity. It is pale straw in colour with expressive citrus, lime zest and green apple aromas, complemented by delicate floral and saline mineral notes. The palate is fresh, balanced and crisp with a tangy finish, making it an excellent match for oysters, grilled fish, shellfish, fresh salads or light pasta dishes.
