RAEN Lady Marjorie Chardonnay 2024

Produced by RAEN Winery on the Sonoma Coast of California, founded by Carlo and Dante Mondavi with a philosophy centred on coastal terroir, organic farming and minimal intervention winemaking. Named in honour of the brothers’ grandmother, Lady Marjorie is sourced from cool climate vineyard sites positioned close to the Pacific Ocean, where fog, strong maritime influence and long growing seasons preserve freshness and aromatic precision. The vineyards are farmed organically and biodynamically in practice, with soils of sandstone, shale and fractured volcanic material providing excellent drainage and pronounced mineral character.

The 2024 vintage is harvested by hand during the cool early morning hours to retain natural acidity and purity. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in French oak barrels, followed by ageing for around 10 months on fine lees in mostly neutral oak to build texture without excessive oak influence. The wine shows layered aromas of lemon curd, white peach and pear alongside jasmine, crushed stone and subtle brioche notes. The palate is energetic yet refined, with vibrant acidity, saline minerality and a long elegant finish. It pairs beautifully with lobster, grilled fish, roast chicken and creamy seafood dishes.
