Produced by RAEN Winery, founded by Carlo and Dante Mondavi along the rugged Sonoma Coast of California. The name RAEN stands for Research in Agriculture and Enology Naturally, reflecting the estate’s focus on site driven Pinot Noir made with organic and biodynamic principles. The Royal St. Robert Cuvée is named in honour of Robert Mondavi and is sourced from cool climate coastal vineyards influenced by Pacific fog and ocean breezes. The vineyards are planted on elevated slopes with well draining sandstone, shale and volcanic soils that contribute freshness, aromatic complexity and mineral tension. Farming is carried out sustainably with low intervention practices.

The 2024 vintage is made from Pinot Noir sourced from a selection of Sonoma Coast vineyard parcels. Grapes are harvested by hand and fermented with native yeasts using a proportion of whole bunches to enhance structure and perfume. The wine is aged for around 10 months in French oak barrels, with a modest percentage of new oak to preserve purity and finesse. It shows expressive aromas of wild strawberry, red cherry and raspberry alongside rose petal, forest floor and subtle spice notes. The palate is vibrant and silky with bright acidity, fine tannins and a long mineral finish. It pairs beautifully with duck, roast chicken, mushroom dishes, grilled salmon and soft cheeses.
