Ocampo is a boutique winery based on the Canary Island of Tenerife, founded by José Ocampo to showcase the island’s unique volcanic terroirs. The vineyards are planted on steep, sun drenched terraces, with old vine Listán Blanco and other indigenous varieties, high above sea level (typically between 300-700 metres) altitude, where cool Atlantic breezes and altitude help preserve natural acidity and freshness. Listán Blanco is the principal white grape of the Canary Islands, genetically identical to Palomino Fino, the main grape of Sherry in Spain. It produces wines with bright acidity, light to medium body, and subtle floral and citrus aromas. The grape thrives in volcanic soils, often giving wines a distinct mineral and saline character. Vines grow on free draining, mineral rich volcanic soils of basalt, ash and pumice. Vineyard practices emphasise sustainability, with careful soil and canopy management, cover cropping and very low yields to enhance concentration. .

Ocampo Tenerife Listán Blanco 2023 is made from 100% Listán Blanco, hand harvested from high altitude sites to capture crisp fruit and pure aromatics. The grapes are gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel at cool temperatures, preserving vibrant citrus, orchard fruit and saline minerality. The wine is bottled young without extended oak ageing to maintain vivacity and clarity. On the palate it shows lemon zest, green apple, white flowers and a refreshing, lingering finish. It pairs beautifully with grilled seafood, shellfish paella, ceviche, fresh salads and light poultry dishes, making it an excellent choice for warm weather or sophisticated dining.
