Albamar is a small family-run estate based in Galicia, northwest Spain. The winery was established in the early 2000s and is led by Xurxo Alba, whose family has farmed Albariño grapes here for generations. The vineyards lie very close to the Atlantic, often within metres of the sea, on sandy soils with weathered granite and some clay content that deliver notable salinity and minerality to the wines. The estate practices sustainable, low-intervention viticulture across its parcels, with many plots farmed organically and harvested by hand, with spontaneous fermentation involving indigenous yeasts in the cellar.

Albamar Alma de Mar 2021 is a single-vineyard expression made from 100% Albariño. After manual harvesting and gentle whole-cluster pressing, fermentation takes place spontaneously with native yeasts, followed by 6–8 months ageing on its lees with regular bâtonnage in stainless steel, and a further rest in bottle before release. The wine shows ripe citrus and floral aromatics such as lime, mandarin blossom, jasmine and orange blossom, with an enveloping yet fresh palate, vibrant acidity and a saline, mineral finish typical of its maritime terroir. This white pairs excellently with seafood like oysters, grilled fish and shellfish, as well as light, fresh dishes such as sushi, salads or soft cheeses.
