JC Lapalu Beaujolais Villages

Jean Claude Lapalu is a highly respected producer in Beaujolais, specialising in expressing the unique character of old-vine Gamay. His estate, with generations of winemaking experience, practices sustainable viticulture, maintaining healthy soils and balanced vines. The vineyards are located on the granite slopes of the Beaujolais Villages appellation, many over 50 years old. The wines are vegan-friendly and crafted without animal-derived fining agents.

The Beaujolais Villages Vieilles Vignes 2023 is made from 100% Gamay, hand-harvested from old vines. Fermentation occurs using semi-carbonic maceration in stainless steel to preserve freshness and fruit purity. The wine is aged briefly on fine lees for added texture. It displays aromas of red berries, floral notes, and subtle spice, with a vibrant palate and gentle tannins. Excellent with grilled meats, roasted vegetables, charcuterie, and soft cheeses.
