Domaine Guion Bourgueil Authentique 2019

Domaine Guion is a small, family run estate in Benais, at the heart of the Bourgueil appellation in the Loire Valley. A pioneer of organic viticulture since the 1960s, Stéphane Guion continues the tradition with low intervention winemaking, allowing Cabernet Franc to express the region’s limestone and clay soils with honesty and finesse.

The 2019 “Authentique” is a beautifully balanced example of Loire Cabernet Franc. It opens with aromas of ripe redcurrant, cherry and violets, followed by earthy notes of graphite and a touch of spice. The palate is supple yet structured, with bright acidity and fine tannins giving shape to the generous fruit. Fresh, vibrant, and elegant, it’s equally enjoyable young or after a few years of cellaring. Drink now through to 2030.
