Ziobaffa Toscana Rosso 2020

Ziobaffa is the Tuscan wine project created by musician and environmental advocate Sting together with the Trudie Styler Foundation. Produced from organically farmed vineyards in Tuscany, the wines reflect a commitment to sustainability, biodiversity and responsible agriculture. The vineyards benefit from Tuscany’s warm Mediterranean climate and are planted on well-drained clay, limestone and sandstone soils that encourage balanced ripening and concentration. Ziobaffa wines are certified organic and vegan friendly, with vineyard management focused on preserving soil health and minimising environmental impact. The 2020 vintage delivered healthy fruit with excellent ripeness and freshness, producing approachable and expressive wines.

Ziobaffa Toscana Rosso 2020 is a blend of 85% Sangiovese and 15% Syrah. The grapes are fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and varietal character, followed by a period of maturation in tank and oak to soften the tannins and add complexity. The wine displays aromas of ripe cherry, blackberry and plum, complemented by notes of Mediterranean herbs, spice and a touch of liquorice. The palate is medium bodied and supple with balanced acidity and smooth tannins. Drinking well now, it pairs beautifully with pasta dishes, grilled meats, pizza, roasted vegetables and mature cheeses.
