Ziereisen Rhini 2013
The terroir of the Pinot Noir Rhini differs significantly from all other at Ziereisen - here there is not just pure limestone as usual, but limestone with a layer of clay and loess and extremely interspersed with iron. The clones are half Burgundy clones and half Baden clones, planted from 1988 to 2000. The wine shows an extremely spicy nose, reminiscent of Vosne Romanée in Burgundy, lots of pressure, black and red cherry with Amarena cherry and rosemary, plus raw and flamed meat. Certainly Ziereisen's most powerful Pinot Noir. Stylistically, this wine is already a Vosne Romanée Premier Cru, with a little touch of the grandeur of a Grand Cru.
