Weninger Rozsa Petsovits
Weingut Weninger is a family run winery rooted in Austria’s Burgenland and Hungary’s Sopron region, led by Franz Weninger, a pioneer of biodynamic viticulture. The estate farms biodynamically and organically, with healthy soils and diversity at the core of its practices. Rózsa Petsovits is produced as part of this natural wine philosophy, and is made without animal derived fining agents, making it vegan friendly.
Rózsa Petsovits is a rosé blend crafted from Syrah, Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch and Pinot Noir sourced from vineyards on both sides of the Austrian–Hungarian border, combining gneiss, loam and limestone soils that contribute vibrancy and mineral nuance. Grapes are hand harvested and spontaneously fermented, often aged on lees in large used vessels before bottling unfined. Medium bodied with bright red fruit, strawberry, cranberry and subtle herbal spice, it is refreshing and versatile, pairing beautifully with summer salads, grilled meats, charcuterie and light seafood.
