Vinaria Din Vale Feteasca Neagra
Vinaria din Vale is a Moldovan winery located in the Codru region, one of the country’s key winegrowing areas known for its rolling hills and forested landscape. The vineyards benefit from a moderate continental climate with warm summers and cool nights, allowing for slow, even ripening of native and international varieties. Soils are predominantly clay limestone with pockets of sandy loam, contributing structure, freshness and aromatic depth. The estate works with sustainable vineyard practices focused on soil health and manual vineyard work, though it is not formally certified organic.
Feteasca Neagra is one of Moldova’s most important indigenous red grape varieties. The grapes are fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel to preserve varietal character, followed by ageing for around 8 to 10 months in oak barrels to add subtle spice and structure. The wine shows aromas of black cherry, plum and dark berry fruit, with hints of sweet spice, cocoa and soft earth. The palate is medium to full-bodied with rounded tannins and balanced acidity. It pairs well with grilled meats, roasted lamb, hearty stews and mature cheeses.
