Vina Amezola Crianza 2022

Viña Amézola is a family owned estate in the heart of Rioja Alta, where the Amézola family has been cultivating vineyards for generations. The winery was one of the pioneers of estate-bottled wines in Rioja, using only grapes grown on its own vineyards around Torremontalbo. The vineyards are managed using sustainable farming practices, with vines planted on clay-limestone and alluvial soils at elevations of 500-650 metres. The Atlantic influence, combined with warm daytime temperatures and cool nights, promotes slow, even ripening, resulting in wines with freshness, balance and elegance.

Viña Amézola Crianza 2022 is made from 90% Tempranillo and 10% Graciano, sourced from estate grown vineyards. Following temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel, the wine is matured for 12 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels before further bottle ageing. Aromas of ripe blackberry, black cherry and plum are complemented by notes of vanilla, cedar, liquorice and sweet spice. The palate is fresh and well balanced, with silky tannins, vibrant acidity and a refined finish, making it an excellent companion to roast lamb, grilled beef, pork, game, Manchego cheese and hearty Mediterranean dishes.
