Vignoble des Cabottes Beaune Les Grèves Vigne de l’Enfant Jésus comes from one of the most historic and coveted parcels in the Côte de Beaune. The 3.92-hectare vineyard sits in the heart of the Les Grèves Premier Cru, mid-slope above Beaune, on deep sandy, gravelly soils over limestone bedrock. The site forms a natural amphitheatre, allowing the grapes to ripen evenly while the depth of soil provides a good water reserve. The parcel was progressively acquired by Bouchard Père & Fils from 1791 and remains a distinct vineyard within the new Vignoble des Cabottes, created by Artémis Domaines in 2025. The 2023 is the first release under the Cabottes name, bringing a long-established Beaune vineyard into a new chapter.

Made from 100% Pinot Noir, the grapes were hand harvested and rigorously sorted, with around 25% whole bunches used in the vinification. A period of cold maceration is followed by fermentation and gentle pigeage, before an extended 20-month élevage in French oak, around 40% of which is new. The 2023 combines ripe wild strawberry, blackberry and brambly red fruit with violet, warm spice, subtle leather and crushed-stone notes. Despite its concentration, the palate is remarkably poised, with finely sculpted tannins, fresh acidity and a persistent, savoury finish. It is still very young and will benefit from several years in bottle, with Neal Martin suggesting 2027–2045 and Jasper Morris 2032–2040. Serve with roast duck, coq au vin, venison, mushroom dishes, truffle or mature Comté.
