Vignai da Duline Malvasia Chioma Integrale 2023
Vignai da Duline is a family run winery founded by Lorenzo Mocchiutti and Federica Magrini in the Friuli Colli Orientali region of north eastern Italy. The estate is dedicated to preserving old vineyards and indigenous varieties through thoughtful, sustainable farming that respects biodiversity and soil health. The vineyards are planted on the region's distinctive ponca soils, a stratified mix of marl and sandstone that provides excellent drainage and imparts freshness and mineral complexity. The winery follows organic and sustainable principles and a low intervention philosophy in both the vineyard and cellar, and the wines are generally considered vegan friendly.
Malvasia Chioma Integrale 2023 is made from 100% Malvasia Istriana sourced from old vines. The grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and an extended period of skin contact to enhance texture and aromatic complexity before ageing for approximately 10 months on its fine lees in stainless steel, followed by a short period in bottle. Unfined and unfiltered, the wine displays aromas of citrus peel, apricot, Mediterranean herbs and white flowers with delicate saline and spicy notes. The palate is fresh, textured and mineral, making it an excellent partner for shellfish, grilled fish, vegetable dishes, poultry and aged cheeses.
