Vatistas Estate Malagouzia
Vatistas Estate is a small, family run winery based in the Peloponnese in southern Greece, focusing on indigenous varieties and careful vineyard management. The vineyards are located in a Mediterranean climate with warm days and cooling influences from nearby mountains and sea breezes. Soils are typically limestone-rich with clay and stony elements, contributing freshness and aromatic lift. The estate follows sustainable farming practices with minimal intervention in both vineyard and cellar, though it is not formally certified organic.
Vatistas Estate Malagouzia 2023 is made from 100% Malagouzia, an aromatic Greek white variety. The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel to preserve freshness and varietal expression. The wine is aged briefly on fine lees for around 3 months to enhance texture. It shows aromas of peach, apricot and citrus, with floral notes and a hint of herbaceous character. The palate is fresh and balanced with lively acidity. It pairs well with seafood, salads, grilled vegetables and light Mediterranean dishes.
