The Yamazaki 12 YR Single Malt

The Yamazaki 12 Year Old is a masterpiece of Japanese whisky craftsmanship, proudly representing Suntory’s flagship single malt. First introduced in 1984, it has since become a symbol of Japanese whisky’s rise to global acclaim. Crafted at Japan’s oldest distillery, nestled in the serene landscapes near Kyoto, this elegant single malt reflects the purity of its surroundings. This expression is aged in three distinct casks: American ex-bourbon barrels, Spanish Oloroso sherry casks, and rare Japanese Mizunara oak—an exotic wood known for its sandalwood aroma and subtle coconut notes. This unique combination creates a beautifully layered flavour profile that evolves with every sip. On the nose this whisky offers aromas of bright tropical fruits, vanilla and candied orange. On the palate it offers notes of coconut and cranberry with a finish of spice.
