Le Difese, Tenuta San Guido’s entry level offering, is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese, with the Sangiovese coming from long term partners in the Chianti Rufina region of Tuscany. This Sangiovese component gives the wine a more overtly “local Tuscan” character according to Carlo Paoli, and a more accessible first-step introduction on the Tenuta San Guido ladder.
