Tenuta Le Potazzine Brunello di Montalcino 2016 Half Bottle
Tenuta Le Potazzine is a family owned estate in the prestigious Brunello di Montalcino region of Tuscany, working with vineyards registered for Brunello DOCG on calcareous clay soils at elevations around 420–507 metres above sea level. Grapes are tended with respect for nature and minimal chemical intervention, and the estate is in conversion to organic agriculture, farming sustainably and harvesting entirely by hand. The vineyards benefit from daily temperature swings and breezes that encourage aromatic intensity and structure in Sangiovese.
The 2016 Brunello di Montalcino is made from 100% Sangiovese (locally called Brunello), fermented with indigenous yeasts and long maceration, then aged for approximately 40–42 months in large Slavonian oak casks, followed by additional bottle ageing before release. Medium to full-bodied with intense ruby colour, it offers aromas of ripe berry fruit, rose petal, spice and earthy tobacco, with firm yet elegant tannins and vibrant acidity. This refined Brunello pairs beautifully with roasted red meats, game, aged cheeses and rich Tuscan cuisine, and has excellent ageing potential well beyond release.
