Tenuta delle Terre Nere Etna Rosso Caldera Bellacollona 2022 20th Anniversary

Tenuta delle Terre Nere is a renowned estate on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, producing wines since 2002 from various Contrade, volcanic soiled vineyards at altitudes between 600–900 metres. The estate converted to organic farming in 2007, and remains committed to low-intervention viticulture, making their wines appealing to environmentally conscious wine-lovers; the 2022 “20th Anniversary” Rosso is considered vegan-friendly.

The 2022 “20th Anniversary” Etna Rosso is crafted mostly from 95–98% Nerello Mascalese with a small portion of Nerello Cappuccio. Grapes are hand harvested then fermented in temperature-controlled vats and aged 14–16 months in large French oak casks or barriques, followed by a short rest in steel before bottling. The wine displays wild cherry, blood-orange, violets and Mediterranean herb aromas, with fresh acidity, mineral grip and silky tannins. It pairs beautifully with grilled red meats, lamb, mushroom dishes or hearty pasta.
