Sylvie Esmonin Coteaux Bourguignons 2023
Domaine Sylvie Esmonin is a family owned estate based in Gevrey-Chambertin, where Sylvie Esmonin took over from her father, Michel Esmonin, in 1998. The domaine is renowned for producing elegant, terroir driven Burgundies from meticulously tended vineyards across the Côte de Nuits. The vines are grown on classic Burgundian limestone and clay soils, which provide excellent drainage and contribute freshness, finesse and mineral character. Vineyard work follows sustainable principles with careful attention to soil health and low yields, while intervention in the cellar is kept to a minimum.
Sylvie Esmonin Coteaux Bourguignons 2023 is made from 100% Pinot Noir, sourced from carefully selected vineyards within the appellation. The grapes are fermented with native yeasts before ageing for approximately 12 months in older French oak barrels, allowing the fruit to remain at the forefront while adding subtle texture and complexity. Bright aromas of red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry are complemented by delicate floral notes with cocoa, sweet spices and coffee. The palate is fresh, supple and beautifully balanced with silky tannins and lively acidity, making it an ideal partner for charcuterie, roast chicken, grilled pork, mushroom dishes and soft cheeses.
