The winery behind this wine is Susana Balbo Wines (part of Dominio del Plata), founded in 1999 by pioneering Argentine winemaker Susana Balbo. The “Crios” label was created as a more approachable, youthful line the name means “children,” a tribute to her own. The grapes for Crios Torrontés 2024 come from high altitude vineyards in the Uco Valley (Mendoza) and Cafayate Valley (Salta), regions known for sharp diurnal temperature swings that preserve acidity and enhance aromatic development. Soils tend to be sandy or alluvial, ideal for drainage and vibrant white wine expression.

The 2024 Crios Torrontés is made from 100% Torrontés grapes. The fruit is hand harvested, fermented in stainless steel at cool temperatures (around 12–14?°C) to preserve aromatic freshness and then aged on the lees for approximately three months to build texture while maintaining purity and vibrancy. On the nose and palate the wine delivers pronounced aromas and flavours of citrus, passion fruit, lychee and white flowers, with lively acidity, a hint of creaminess and a long, mineral and refreshing finish. It pairs exceptionally well chilled with seafood, shellfish (crab, white fish), light white meats, salads, Asian and fusion dishes.
