Steigler Zold Veltelini 2022

Steigler Zöld Veltelini 2022 is produced by Weingut Steigler, a family owned estate in the Sopron wine region of north western Hungary. The vineyards are planted on limestone and loess soils that provide good drainage and accentuate mineral character, with a cool continental climate influenced by surrounding hills and Lake Neusiedl.

The 2022 Zöld Veltelini is made from 100% Zöld Veltelini (Grüner Veltliner). Grapes were hand harvested, fermented in stainless steel to preserve fresh fruit and varietal purity, and aged briefly on fine lees for texture. Full bodied, complex Zöld Veltelini showing the fruitiness of fully ripened grapes, great concentration and pronounced oaky notes. Nose with honey and elderflower, ripened quince, schistose minerality, exciting tartness and vibrant fruitiness - all in perfect harmony. Long finish with intense notes of maturation and some subtle salinity. It pairs well with seafood, grilled white fish, light poultry dishes, fresh salads and mild cheeses.
