Somloi Vandor Harslevelu 2022
Kis Tamás crafts expressive, small-batch wines from his organic 8-hectare estate on Somló, Hungary’s smallest and most characterful appellation. Known for its volcanic basalt soils and smoky, mineral-rich wines, Somló is home to Somlói Vándor, where Tamás focuses on native varieties and low-intervention, terroir-driven winemaking.
Somlói Vándor’s Hárslevelu comes from 20-year-old vines on Somló hill. Hand-harvested and spontaneously fermented with native yeasts, it aged 11 months on lees in stainless steel. Intensely aromatic with dried apricot, quince, herbs, and a smoky edge, it finishes salty and vibrant—Tomi’s “saltiest vintage yet.” Just 2,000 bottles made.
